Areas of Specialisation: Laura has broad experience in a Primary Care community setting assisting clients from a range of cultural backgrounds dealing with issues such as stress, anxiety and depression. She has also specialised in severe cases such as helping people cope with trauma in their childhood, and helping refugees adjust to their new circumstances. Whatever the concern, she has a flexible and enthusiastic approach to building the emotional resilience to enable you to move forwards with strength.

  • Bachelors Degree in Psychology from Dublin Business School
  • Masters Degree in Counselling Psychology from Trinity College Dublin
  • Chartered Counselling Psychologist with the Psychology Society of Ireland

Previous Experience: After completing her Masters in 2007, Laura joined the Health Service Executive (HSE), the national healthcare provider in Ireland, with whom she has spent her entire career before moving to Qatar in 2018. Her roles have included being part of the team launching the Primary Care Counselling Project, a new initiative in Ireland for Psychologists to work with Family Medicine Consultants (GPs) to bring counselling care into the community. She also had specific responsibilities working with adults who have been the victims of childhood abuse, and with asylum seekers and refugees.
