Teresa is an empathetic and compassionate Psychologist. She takes a Person-Centred and Integrative approach to her therapy.

She draws upon a number of different therapeutic methods, including Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT), and is a particular expert in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). She is also a qualified EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy) therapist, helping people heal from the distress they experience as a result of traumatic events.

She works with adults and couples to address issues that they are facing in their lives. Her practice has involved treating a broad patient base suffering from a range of complex anxiety and depression disorders (including low mood, panic, OCD, health anxiety, PTSD and more).

As well as treating patients, she is a qualified Supervisor and often works to train and support more junior Psychologists.

Professional Qualifications and Registrations:

  • Bachelors Degree in Psychology from University of Bari (Italy)
  • Post-graduate Diploma in Psychology from University of Bari (Italy)
  • Masters in Applied Psychology from University of East London (UK)
  • Certificate in High Intensity Training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy from Royal Holloway (UK)
  • Registered Clinical Psychologist with the Health and Care Professions Council (UK)
  • Accredited CBT therapist with the British Association of Behavioral and Cognitive Psychotherapies (UK)

Previous Experience:

Teresa joined The International Medical Centre from her leadership role in the National Health Service (NHS). Most recently she was Deputy Clinical Lead of the NHS Time to Talk initiative in Sussex, where she was responsible for managing the care delivery of a team of therapists. These therapists were often dealing with complex mental health disorders, managing situations in the community before they became serious enough to require secondary care.

Teresa has also been managing her own successful private practice in London, where she saw international clients from all walks of life.
