Karen is a Clinical Dietitian, with experience in a broad range of clinical areas including Rehabilitation, Radiation and Medical Oncology, Neurology, Diabetes and Cardiovascular Disease. She has spent the majority of her career working in clinical dietetics, in both hospitals and outpatient clinics. Using medical nutrition therapy, she has assisted patients suffering from a range of acute and chronic health conditions from overweight and obesity, to irritable bowel syndrome, chronic renal disease, cancer and Parkinson’s Disease. She has extensive experience in the management of malnutrition in both underweight and overweight populations.

Karen has also worked as a Pediatric Clinical Dietitian in the management of children with faltering growth, overweight and obesity, cystic fibrosis, type 1 diabetes and cerebral palsy. She also enjoys working with families and carers to assist in overcoming the challenges experienced with fussy eaters.

Professional Qualifications and Registrations:

  • Degree in Nutrition and Dietetics from the University of Newcastle (Australia)
  • Member of the Dietitians Association of Australia
  • Registered Dietitian in Qatar

Previous Experience:

Karen has 12 years of outstanding experience as a Dietitian in Australia before relocating to Qatar. She most recently worked as a Senior Clinical Dietitian in the Assessment & Rehabilitation Unit of Kurri Kurri Hospital in New South Wales, where her roles included staff education, student Dietitian training and consultancy on hospital food service issues. Her previous roles included Clinical Dietitian for Community Outreach and Therapy Services, and Clinical Dietitian in the Pediatrics Department in Gosford Hospital – just north of Sydney.
